The Fujifilm UV foils measure UV light and UV light distribution. The UV foil is placed on the location that needs to be measured. Depending on the amount of UV light the foil changes color and density. The color is formed by a material in the micro capsules that react to the UV light. A scanner and special software digitize and convert the colorized film into numerical data. Light amount measurement range from 4 mJ/cm² up to 6.000 mJ/cm².

The light sensitive layer changes color according to the amount of UV light it receives, so the amount of light distributed on the exposed surface is easily seen by observing a light sensitive layer and white-colored layer are attached to the base. Since the color density of the white-colored layer corresponds to the amount of UV light received, the light amount distribution on the light receiving surface can easily be investigated.
