Altheris non-contact rotating torque sensors utilize not only strain gauge type, but also magnetic, inductive or cutting edge SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) technology to provide high accurate and reliable torque measurements at high rotational speeds. They do not use slip rings and provide long maintenance-free operation. Our rotary torque sensors are commonly used for in-line applications on rotating shafts.
They offer excellent immunity to electromagnetic fields. Measurement ranges available from 1 Nm to 7 kNm. A special optical sensor offers torque ranges as low as 10mNm.

The digital RWT410/420 Series use the latest non-contact TorqSense technology and as a cost effective transducer offers integrated electronics either with fixed outputs (RWT410 Series) or user selectable outputs (RWT420 Series). USB and RS232 outputs available.

Torque ranges: 1Nm to 13,000Nm, with above 13,000Nm on request.

RWT430/440 Series Torque sensor

The digital RWT430/440 Series use the latest non-contact TorqSense technology and as a cost effective transducer offers separate electronics and sensor either with fixed outputs (RWT430 Series) or user selectable outputs (RWT440 Series). RWT450/460 Series Torque sensor

TorqSense Digital RWT450/460 Series pulley/sprocket transducers are suitable for torque monitoring and process control on any belt/chain driven machinery. They offer separate electronics and sensor either with fixed outputs (RWT450 Series) or user selectable outputs (RWT460 Series). USB and RS232 outputs are also available for direct PC interface.

Special Torque Sensor

Low-cost E200 Optical Rotary Series Torque Sensor

The E200 ORT Series Transducers use photovoltaic detectors to measure the light intensity. As a non-contact transducer, the absence of brush gear allows for high-speed operation of up to 30,000RPM on the smaller sizes. The E200 ORT requires an E201 or E202 Transducer Interface.

Torque ranges: 10mNm to 500Nm.

TorqView Software

TorqView is an easy to use Advanced Torque Monitoring software for use with above shown products. It has been written using NI LabVIEW and as it is a self running executable file, users do not require LabVIEW to run TorqView.

The CD1050 Series has been developed to be mounted on rotating shafts for rotary torque measurements. Constructed in stainless steel, the sensor is suitable for use in many hostile environments. Fitted with metallic strain gauges in a Wheatstone bridge circuit, the CD1050 is providing excellent temperature stability. For high-level output a model with integrated amplifier is available

CD1095 Torque sensor

The CD1095 has been designed to measure in-line torque on rotating shafts. Its sensing element is based on thin layer strain gauges in a Wheatstone bridge configuration providing excellent temperature stability. Optionally the torque sensor can receive an on-board amplifier for high level output.

CD1110 Torque sensor

The CD1110 series of dynamic torque sensors have extremely low operating ranges protected by mechanical stops permitting an overload of 10 times the F.S. measurement range. The rugged design provides accurate bidirectional torque measurements of rotating components up to 2000 rpm. Optionally the CD1110 can receive an on-board amplifier for high level voltage output. Signal amplification is accomplished before transmission via the slip ring assembly, thus eliminating the noise generated by the contacts. It is also possible to eliminate the contact residual drag torque by placing the transducer sensing element directly in contact with the torque to be measured.

The CD 1140 family of torque sensors offers a rugged but small package size as well as many mounting configurations so as to provide excellent measurements in both industrial and laboratory environments. The contactless transmission of supply voltage and measuring signal facilitates continuous operation with low wear and no slip ring service. The CD1140 is also available with optional speed or angle detection (but not both).

The FCA 7300 series of measurement steering wheels are the most accurate available on the market today. This new generation of transducers incorporates numerous technological innovations, such as: . Full on-board conditioning electronics, with built-in angle reset, torque calibration function and a facility to send a start trigger signal to the remote data acquisition system. . Optical coder processing electronics are built-in - there is no need for external TTL electronics . Five simultaneous analogue output signals, two torque channels, two angle channels and one angular velocity channel . Bearing friction influence on the torque measurement has been eliminated, allowing high accuracy low torque measurements . Low profile design retains the same driving conditions as with standard steering wheels. . Easily mounted on any road vehicle by means of flanges - no disassembly of the steering column is required. . Optional steering stops adjustable between ±15° to ±165° are available. The CD1124T is a telemetry based torque transducer measuring dynamic torque between the gearbox and engine shaft of heavy-duty vehicles. Through the wireless signal transmission and power supply the CD1124T is extremely easy to mount and use, especially while measuring rotating shafts.
